ABOUT THE PASTOR: Rev. John Savwa Irangi is a Kenyan national who travels widely throughout his home country, making disciples for Jesus. Stationed in Western Kenya, in a mostly rural region, he coordinates the Kenyan Outreach Ministeries nationwide. He holds a B.A. degree in Social Science from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri and an M.A. in Theology from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He is married to Sarah and they have 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls. The Irangi family lives in Maragoli in a handmade home lacking electricity and many Western conveniences most Americans take for granted. Rev. John has a gift of prayer ministry -- he strongly believes "Faith moves mountains -- but prayer moves God." There is nothing beyond the reach of prayer. Prayer, he says, is the remote control that activates the spirit of God to change events and situations in history. "Praying for 2-4 hours daily has not only released tremendous power in our ministry, but has also drawn many people to our church with whom we have had no physical contact at all. Whatever situation you are in now, just get to the prayer closet and begin to seek our Heavenly Father. Send us your prayer requests and wait for the answers -- there is no distance in prayer. Amidst murder, violence and chaos in Kenya, none of our colleagues has died or even been interfered with." As Psalm 23 says: "The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul, He leadeth me in the path of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
